Anchor Tag

Create links (tags) within the same page.  By including an anchor tag within a post or page, you can place links in the body of your post which when clicked allow the reader to jump to another location on the page.  The anchor tag will consist of two HTML elements:  First you want to create the link.  The second part of the anchor tag is the actual anchor.  The anchor should be placed at the beginning of the line where you want to start reading after you jump.

Insert Anchor

An anchor is like a bookmark into a specific location within a web page. It will allow you to create links that not only open a specific page but also scroll the page so the point where the anchor exists it at the top of the page.
  1. Page the cursor at the location in your page where you want the anchor.

  2. Click in the anchor links icon in the bottom toolbar.

  3. The Insert an Anchor dialog box will appear.

  4. Type in a name for your anchor.

Note: Use only lowercase letters and number and it must be ONE word.

Note: This name must not have been used on this page before.

  5. A little image of an anchor will appear at the insertion point.

Note: The anchor image will not appear on the published site.

Note: Deleting the anchor graphic will remove the anchor. Links that use this anchor will no longer be valid after the anchor is removed.
