Style
In the upper left corner of the editor in the first toolbar is the styles drop-down. If the text the cursor is over text has a style applied, the drop-down will appear like the text under the cursor.
To change the style and appearance of text to a pre-defined look.
- Highlight the text you want to change.
- Select the new style from the styles drop-down.
How do you set the pre-defined look? Visit Edit Styles
Note: The text under the cursor may not look exactly like the text in the style drop-down if other formatting has been applied to the text.

Font Selector
Just to the right of the Styles drop-down is the font selector. It will appear in the font under the cursor in the editor.
To change the font used by a block of text...
- Highlight the text you want to change.
- Select the new font from the Font Selector.

Font Size
The third item on the top tool bar is the font size selector. It will display the size of the font under the cursor in points.
To change the font size for a block of text.
- Highlight the text you want to change.
- Type the new font size into the font size field.
Note: Points are not an exact measurement for web font but it's used here for convenience. For more information, see Points to Pixels Conversion Chart.

Bold
The icon on the top toolbar is the bold button. If the text under the current cursor position is bold, this button will appear with a grey background and a blue border.
To change the bold state of text.
- Highlight the text to change.
- Click on the bold toolbar button.
Note: The boldness of selected text will toggle. The current state will be the boldness a the beginning of the selected text.

Italic
The icon on the top toolbar is the italic button. If the text under the current cursor position is italic, this button will appear grey with a blue border.
To change the italic state of text.
- Highlight the text to change.
- Click on the italic toolbar button.
Note: The italic state of selected text will toggle. The current state will be the italic state a the beginning of the selected text.

Underline
The icon on the top toolbar is the underline button. If the text under the current cursor position is underlined, this button will appear grey with a blue border.
To change the underline state of text.
- Highlight the text to change.
- Click on the underline toolbar button.
Note: The underline state of selected text will toggle. The current state will be the underline state a the beginning of the selected text.

Strike-through
The icon on the top toolbar is the strike-through button. If the text under the current cursor position has a strike-through this button will appear grey with a blue border.
To change the strike-through state of text.
- Highlight the text to change.
- Click on the strike-through toolbar button.
Note: The strike-through state of selected text will toggle. The current state will be the strike-through state a the beginning of the selected text.

Superscript
The icon on the top toolbar is the superscript button. If the text under the current cursor position is superscript, this button will appear grey with a blue border.
To change the superscript state of text...
- Highlight the text to change.
- Click on the superscript toolbar button.
Note: The superscript state of selected text will toggle. The current state will be the superscript state a the beginning of the selected text.

Subscript
The icon on the top toolbar is the subscript button. If the text under the current cursor position is subscript, this button will appear grey with a blue border.
To change the subscript state of text...
- Highlight the text to change.
- Click on the subscript toolbar button.
Note: the subscript state of the selected text will toggle. The current state will be the subscript state at the beginning of the selected text.

Font Color
The icon on the top toolbar is the font color button. This button will appear the color of the text at the current cursor location.
To change the color of text...
- Highlight the text to change.
- Click on the Font Color icon.
- The Select a Font Color dialog box will appear.
- Use the Color Picker to select a new color. Please see Using the Color Selector for more information.
- Press OK to make the currently selected text the color selected in the color picker.

Format Painter
The Format Painter allows you to set the format of text to match previously formatted text.
To format a single block of text to match another block of text...
- Place the cursor over the text with the format you want to use.
- Click on the
Icon.
- Drag your mouse over the text you want to change.
- Release your mouse button and the selected text will change. The Format Painter Icon will change back.
To format more that one block of text...
- Place the cursor over the text with the format you want to use.
- Double Click the
icon. I
- Drag your mouse over the text you want to change.
- Release your mouse button and the selected text will change.
- You can repeat the drag, release operation as many time as you want.
- When you are done, click the
icon to discontinue the format painter operation.
Note: You can cancel the format painter at any time by simply clicking the Icon.

Advanced Style Selector
The Advanced Style Selector allow you to bring up the Advanced Style Editor for a limited group of objects. Please see Advanced Style Editor for more information.

Table Cell Selector
Sometimes it's difficult to pick a single cell of a table. This is especially true when tables are nested inside of each other. To select a table cell...
- Click on the
icon.
- When you roll your mouse over the tables cells of your page, the cells will be outlined with a red dashed border.
- Once the cell you want to modify has the red dashed border, Click you mouse.
- You can now use cell properties to make changes to the selected cell.

Justification
You can justify a paragraph of text in one of four ways.
See examples to the right to see what each of the justification tools do.

Indentation
- You can indent the current paragraph with the
toolbar icon.
- You can remove indentation of the current paragraph with the
icon.
- Applying the indent operation multiple times can create a hierarchy of indentation.
Example:
This text is not indented
This text is indented once.
This text is indented twice.

Remove Formatting
You can remove all formatting from an edit area or a selected block of text. This operation is only available in the format menu, not the toolbar because its use is only of value if the formatting of a page should become corrupt and stop behaving as expected.
Note: This operation should only be used as a last resort of formatting operation fail to work as expected.
Remove formatting of a selected block of text.
- Highlight the text you where you want to remove formatting
Note: You may need to select a larger area of text to include all formatting elements.
- Select Format from the top level menu bar.
- Select Remove Formatting from the drop-down menu bar.
- The formatting of the selected text will be removed.
Remove formatting from an entire edit area.
- Place the cursor in the edit area you want to remove formatting from. The cursor should be collapsed (nothing selected).
- Select Format from the top level menu bar.
- Select Remove Formatting from the drop-down menu bar.
- A Remove Formatting dialog box will appear, Press OK.
- All the formatting will be removed from the selected edit area.
