After opening Image Properties dialog box, click on the Effects/Crop tab.
You can use the Effects/Crop tab of the Image Properties dialog to...
- Modify the quality of the image for faster downloads.
- Rotate the image.
- Reflect the image.
- Crop the image.
- Give the image round corners.
- Make a vignette.
- Add a drop shadow.
- Add corners like you would use in a photo album

Quality
The quality of an image is actually how much the image file is compressed. The lower the quality, the smaller the file becomes. Smaller images download faster making your page display more quickly. This is at the expense of you images looking a little more blotchy or grainy.
To modify the quality of your image.
- Click on the
icon in the toolbar.
- The Image Quality dialog box will appear.
- Enter the Quality. This is a percentage between 0 and 100 percent. The higher the number, the better the quality and the larger the file.
- Enter the Blur Value. This is a number between 0 and 1. The higher the number the more the image will be blurred.

Note: Sometimes blurring the will make a lower quality image look better. |
- Click OK to apply changes.

Rotate
- To rotate the image clockwise by 90º, click the
icon in the toolbar. Click multiple times to rotate 180º and 270º.
- To rotate the image counter-clockwise by 90º, click the
icon in the toolbar. Click multiple times to rotate 180º and 270º.

Reflect
- To reflect the image horizontally, click the
icon in the toolbar.
- To reflect the image vertically, click the
icon in the toolbar.

Crop
- Click the
icon in the toolbar.
- A red box will appear with white square anchors in the four corners.
- Drag the white squares to re-size the red box to represent the area you want left after cropping.
- Click outside of the red box to complete the cropping operation.
Remove Cropping
- Click the
icon in the toolbar.
- The cropping will be removed.

Rounded Corners
Make the corners of your image round.
- Click on the icon
in the toolbar. - The Rounded Corners dialog will appear.
- Check the "Make Corners Round" check-box.
- Enter the number of pixels for X rounding and Y Rounding.
- Click OK.

Vignette
Make your image into a vignette.
- Click on the
icon in the toolbar. - The Vignette dialog appears.
- Check the "Create Vignette" check-box.
- Select a level of softness between 1 and 10. 10 is the softest edge (most blur) and 1 is the hardest edge (least blur).
- Select a background color. Clicking on the "Background Color" button will bring up the color picker.

Note: In most cases you will want the background color to be the same as the background color of your web site. |
- Enter an X Offset and Y Offset for your vignette. This will define how far the image will be cropped on the x and y edges.
- Click OK.

Raise Image
Make your image raised.
- Click the
icon in the toolbar. - The Raise Image dialog appears.
- Check the "Raise Image" check-box.
- Provide the "Depth" of the raise in pixels.
- Click OK.

Drop Shadow
Give your image a drop shadow.
- Click the
icon in the toolbar. - The Drop Shadow dialog appears.
- Check the "Shadow" check-box.
- Enter the depth for the drop shadow. This is how far the image will appear above the page in pixels.
- Enter the opacity. A number between 0 and 100 that defines how dark the shadow will be.
- Click OK.

Corner Effect
To apply a corner effect to your image.
- Click
the icon in the toolbar. - The Corner Effects dialog appears.
- Select "Classic Photo Album Corners".
- Select one of the styles from the Style list.
- Check the boxes "Top Left", "Bottom Left", "Top Right" and "Bottom Right" to indicate the corners of you image where you want this effect.
- Click OK.
